HammerAI works in two ways depending on your platform. On the web, you can access powerful cloud-based AI models that run on our servers. On the desktop app, you can download and run AI models completely locally on your own device for 100% privacy and offline usage.

The web app works on all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and provides access to cloud LLMs. The desktop app is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, supporting both local and cloud models.

It depends on which models you use. On the desktop app with local models, your conversations are 100% private and never leave your device. When using cloud models (on web or desktop), your messages are sent to our servers but are not stored or used for training.

For maximum privacy, download the desktop app and use local models. Your conversations will run entirely on your device with no internet connection required. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet and confirming the chat still works.

No, there is no login. We do this to ensure complete privacy.

When you create your character you will be given a secret key for it. This lets you prove to the HammerAI servers that you can edit this character. For HammerAI Web you'll be given this key in a URL that you should save. For HammerAI Desktop this key is saved on your computer (in the HammerAI app that you download). In the future we will add the ability to import / export this secret in case you want to change computers.

Chatting with unlimited characters with any AI model is 100% free. The only features you pay for are access to better cloud LLMs, cloud image generation, and cloud TTS.

We offer 100% refunds, no questions asked, within 30 days of purchase. If you're not satisfied with the service for any reason, contact support with your license key and we'll process your refund immediately.

Characters may appear to forget things if those things haven't been mentioned recently, as they can only consider a limited amount of conversation context. However, we are currently working on expanding this context to minimize such instances of forgetfulness.
